Lady Crusaders hold on for win; remain perfect

TIGERVILLE, SC- Amanda Milner scored 10 second-half points as North Greenville University held on for a 64-60 win over visiting Benedict College. The win improves North Greenville to 3-0 on the season, while Benedict falls to 1-1.

After battling to a 28-28 tie at halftime, the Crusaders shot 41.7% in the second half. Freshman Eboni Davis hit a triple seven seconds into the second half to give NGU a three point lead. The Tigers would take the lead at the 13:03 mark on a jumper by Lutesia Davis. The point differential did not grow larger than two points the remainder of the game, as both teams exchanged leads, until Davis knocked down two free throws with five seconds remaining to seal the victory for North Greenville.

Audrey Toscano led the Crusaders with 14 points and four rebounds. Freshman Nikki Wood added 10 points and six assists. Milner finished with 12 points.

Natasha Gray scored a game-high 24 points to pace the Tigers. Davis chipped in 15 points.

The Lady Crusaders will be back in action Monday night as they travel to Tusculum College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
