TIGERVILLE, SC- North Greenville University women's basketball coach Jayne Arledge announces the signing of Oceana Jackson, a 6'0'' forward out of Franklin County High School in Carnesville, GA.
Jackson averaged 22.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per game as a junior in 2005-06. Jackson shot 50.5% from the field and 72% from the foul line for the Lions, while averaging 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Jackson, who has scored 1,306 career points, was a first team Georgia All-State selection as a junior while playing for FCHS head coach Holly Wilk. "Oceana is probably the best athlete I have ever coached, and I have been coaching for 27 years," says Wilk.
Arledge notes, "We feel that she is the missing piece that will put us together next year. She is a natural athlete in the post that can jump out of the gym, and may end up being the most athletic post player we have had at NGU."
