Rector sets school record as Crusaders down Montreat

Amber Rector scored a career-high 35 points to set the single-game scoring record for North Greenville University and to lead the Crusaders past Montreat College 89-79 Friday night on the road. It was the final regular season game for Rector and her fellow seniors Sarah Giles, Erin Yuill, Michelle Dennis, and Tammy James before traveling to Tennessee Temple University to play in the South Regional of the NCCAA Tournament.

Yuill was North Greenville's second-leading scorer with a season-high 15 points. Amber Bramlett chipped in ten points.

Rector hit 13 of 17 shots, including five three-pointers. She also grabbed 11 rebounds to give her a double-double in points and rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

Jamie Gragg led Montreat with 26 points, while Danny Bowers and Amy Arnold chipped in 17 and 16 points respectively.

North Greenville improves to 15-11 on the season. The Crusaders will play Tuesday evening against Chowan College in the first round of the NCCAA Tournament. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
