TIGERVILLE, SC- Amber Bramlett (Concord, NC) scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead North Greenville University to a 81-72 victory over King College Tuesday night in Hayes Gymnasium. Audrey Toscano (Concord, NC) led all scorers with 18 points for the Crusaders.
King College took an early lead in the first half, but North Greenville pulled even on an Amanda Milner (York, SC) layup at the 13:09 mark. Then, Robin Warner (Greenville, SC) gave the Crusaders the lead with a jump shot with 12:36 to play in the half. North Greenville never surrendered the lead again.
After being down 44-34 at the break, the Tornados fought back to cut the lead to three points at the 7:09 mark on two Kayla Olson free throws. North Greenville would bend, but not break as Toscano scored nine points down the stretch to preserve the victory for the Crusaders.
North Greenville shot 56.6% from the field, while holding the Tornados to 37.5% shooting. Sarah Giles (Clover, SC), who is currently ranked second in the National Christian College Athletic Association in assists, led both teams with seven.
North Greenville improves to 13-10, while King falls to 13-14. North Greenville will be back in action Thursday night as they host Southern Wesleyan University. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
