Lady Crusaders fall to Blue Hose 79-66
CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College sophomore guard Amy Jones (Warthen, Ga.) tallied a game-high 18 points to lead the Lady Blue Hose to a 79-66 victory over North Greenville College in women's basketball action Wednesday night at the Ross E. Templeton Center. With the win, PC moves to 8-1 on the season while the Lady Crusaders fall to 5-4.
Jones sparked the Lady Blue Hose with 11 of her 18 points coming in the second half. She added four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.

The Lady Blue Hose led for the majority of the first half and extended their lead it to its largest margin of 10 points (40-30) with 2:38 remaining on a layup by senior center Cameron Cook (Greensboro, N.C.). The Lady Crusaders closed the half on a 5-0 run highlighted by a three-pointer as time expired from freshman guard Robin Warner (Greenville, S.C.) to trim the deficit to 40-35 at intermission.

North Greenville shot 60.0% from the field in the first half including four-of-six from three-point land and were led in scoring by sophomore forward Debbie Wyatt (Goose Creek, S.C.) who tallied nine points. The Lady Blue Hose shot 46.9% from the floor and were led in scoring by freshman center Sharie Hopkins' (Chesapeake, Va.) 10 points on five-of-five shooting.

In the second half, PC pushed the lead to 12 points at 53-41 on a jumper by freshman forward Kerianne Blease (Saluda, S.C.) at the 13:51 mark. NGU responded with a 12-2 run over the next three minutes to trim the lead to 55-53 with 10:50 remaining in the game. The game stayed close over the next few minutes until NGU's freshman center Amber Bramlett (Concord, N.C.) scored down low to tie the game at 65-65 with 3:54 left in the game.

The Lady Blue Hose responded with a 14-1 run to close the game including hitting nine-of-10 at the charity stripe to seal the victory. Jones iced the game for PC by hitting six-for-six at the free throw line in the final minute.

Joining Jones for scoring honors with the Lady Blue Hose was Cook who tallied 11 points and six boards while Hopkins added 16 points and nine board coming off the bench.

North Greenville was led by Wyatt who tallied a team-best 16 points, while Bramlett chipped in 12 points and three boards. Senior guard Amber Rector (Wellford, S.C.) rounded out the double figures scorers for the Lady Crusaders with 10 points and seven boards.
