TIGERVILLE, SC- Robin Warner scored 16 points on 6-10 shooting as North Greenville defeated Voorhees College 60-44 Saturday night in Hayes Gymnasium. The Crusaders started off sluggish getting down 9-3 in the first six minutes. Debbie Wyatt hit a jumper with 10:38 left in the first half to cap a four-minute, 7-0 run and give North Greenville their first lead of the night. After that it was off to the races for the Crusaders as they never trailed again.
A mixture of Warner's hot shooting and stifling defense was the recipe for building a 25-14 halftime lead. In the second half, the Crusaders expanded the lead to twenty in the first five minutes. North Greenville was able to hold onto that size cushion for the majority of the rest of the game. Voorhess hit 3 three-pointers in the last three minutes to cut the lead to its final of sixteen.
While Warner led the Crusaders with 16 points, the rest of the team was a balancing act with 10 other Crusaders scoring. Tammy Harbin led the Tigers with 18 points and six rebounds. Antinesha Wyatt pitched in a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Voorhees.
North Greenville, who improves to 4-2, will be back in action December 8th when they host Queens University at Hayes Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
