Stephen Fite, a results-driven leader with a proven track record of building and elevating collegiate soccer programs, begins his first season as head coach of the North Greenville women’s soccer program after playing a central role in the sustained growth and competitive success of the Trailblazers’ men’s program since 2021.
Fite, a native of Texas, brings a wealth of experience across youth, collegiate, and semi-professional soccer. Prior to arriving at North Greenville University, he spent over a decade coaching at the youth level with Dallas Inter Soccer Club, FC Dallas Soccer Club, DFW Tornados Soccer Club, and American Eagles Soccer Club. He also served as General Manager and Assistant Head Coach for WPSL and USL U20 programs at American Eagles, helping guide both men’s and women’s teams at the pre-professional level. He holds a USSF National Coaching License.
During his time with North Greenville’s men’s program, Fite helped oversee one of the most successful stretches in program history, compiling a combined record of 35-30-21 since 2021. He also served as Reserve Team Head Coach, leading the program to its first winning season and first-ever trophy with a Conference Carolinas Developmental Tournament championship.
In 2025, Fite helped lead the Trailblazers to a historic campaign, reaching the Conference Carolinas Championship match for the first time in program history while capturing the program’s first Regular Season Northwest Division title. The Trailblazers were ranked both nationally and regionally throughout the season and established themselves as one of the top defensive units in the country, finishing as a Top 5 defense nationally. The team’s goalkeeper earned Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year honors.
In earlier seasons, Fite played a key role in the program’s rise, including a program-best regular season finish (tied for second place), a Conference Carolinas Tournament semifinal appearance, and multiple all-conference selections, along with national and regional rankings.
As a player, Fite competed at Oklahoma City University from 1998-2000 in the NAIA as a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference, earning Newcomer of the Year honors and First Team All-Conference recognition all three seasons. During his time with the Chiefs, the program achieved both national and regional rankings while advancing to regional tournament play. He also competed with the OKC Devils (SISL) and DFW Tornados (PDL), and trained with the Kansas City Comets. At the youth level, he was a member of the U.S. Youth National Team pool and participated in the North Texas State and Region III Olympic Development Program.
Fite resides in Anderson, South Carolina, with his wife Paola, daughter Alexah, and sons Nico and Luka.
