SWEEP! Crusaders stroll past Mount Olive in two-game set
Mount Olive – North Greenville secured is a second consecutive sweep on Saturday, taking a pair of games from Mount Olive.

How it Happened (Game One)
- Mount Olive struck first with a run in the first inning but NGU quickly corrected. Grace DeBoer smashed a triple in center field which brought around Brooklyn Stone to even it at 1 – 1 in the third inning.
- Celsea Rivers looped in a two-RBI double in the fourth inning to make it 3 – 1 NGU but the Trojans cut the NGU lead to one run with a run in the sixth.
- The Crusaders entered the seventh inning looking for insurance and the got it with three RBI base hits.
- Brooke Wade scored a pair of RBI when she put the ball in play and reached on an error while DeBoer added to her RBI total with a single that plated Wade to make it 6 – 2.
- Ashton Withers finished off the Trojans with an RBI to right field-which scratched DeBoer and gave NGU a five-run edge.
- Amanda Coffrin shut the door on the Trojans in the seventh inning, stranding one runner.
Inside the North Greenville Box Score
- Ashton Withers was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored while Grace DeBoer was 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI and a run.
- Coffrin finished the game with a 17 – 3 record, recording six strikeouts and a pair of runs.
How it Happened (Game Two)
- The heating trend continued into game two as the Crusaders pounded out 12 – hits compared to just two for the Trojans.
- Jaelin Griffin and MacKenzie Dyson combined to hold Mount Olive to just one unearned run during the victory, giving up just one hit each.
- Griffin helped her own cause with an RBI sacrifice fly that plated Hannah Gravely in the top of the first inning.
- Kate Lee tacked another RBI for the Crusaders with a single to right-center that scored Grace DeBoer.
- A run in the second and three in the third frame extended the lead to six runs for North Greenville. Brooklyn Stone sent home a pair of runs while Taylor Koon also singled in a run.
- UMO scratched its first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning, capitalizing on a play at the plate to cut the NGU lead to 6 – 1.
- The Trojan run failed to phase North Greenville though who got the run right back and added another in the fourth.
- Griffins second RBI single scored Brooke Wade while Kate Lee’s batted ball sent Griffin home to score to extend the lead to 8 – 1.
- The Crusaders put the finishing touches on the Trojans in the fifth with a pair of runs to "mercy rule" Mount Olive in the fifth inning.
Inside the North Greenville Box Score
- Taylor Koon led North Greenville after going 3 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI.
- Jaelin Griffin was 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBI while Brooklyn Stone was 1 for 2 with three RBI.
- Kate Lee finished 1 for 3 with a pair of RBI along with Wade who was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a run batted in.
- Griffin was credited with the win and improved to 3 – 5 on the season as a starter.
