HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Kate Lee was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, while Lees-McRae College's Kara Cunningham was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18, the Conference announced today.
Lee, a junior from Gilbert, S.C., posted a .333 batting average with four hits, including one triple and one home run, and four RBI to pace the Crusaders to a 3-1 record last week. Her best performance came in NGU's 7-1 victory over No. 20 Carson-Newman, as she went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI.
Lee currently ranks third in Conference Carolinas in both triples (1) and home runs (1). She is the second player in as many weeks to earn the awar for North Greenville following Taylor Koon's week two nod.
