Indianapolis – North Greenville University softball will travel to Dahlonega, Georgia this weekend to take on North Georgia in the first round of the NCAA Division II softball tournament.
The Crusaders earned the program’s first ever trip to the NCAA tournament after winning the Conference Carolinas championship a week ago. North Greenville upended the league’s top two seeds including a win over the first seeded Pfeiffer Falcons in the championship round.
NGU finished the season 35-17 on the season with a 17-5 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Crusaders will take on the North Georgia Nighthawks on Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm at Haines and Carolyn Hill Stadium.
The Nighthawks finished the 2017 season ranked third in the country, securing a 44-10 record as well as a Peach Belt tournament title. The Hawks finished with a 20-4 record in league play. Coverage for this weekend’s double elimination tournament will be updated when provided.
