Burlington, N.C. – Four North Greenville softball players were named Conference Carolinas All-Conference performers on Thursday night at the league awards banquet.
Amanda Coffrin was named first team all conference while Megan Johnson, Morgan Roach, and Brooklyn Fort earned second team nods.
Coffrin led North Greenville in the circle this season, notching 17 wins in her first season in Tigerville. The junior hurler sported a 2.18 earned run average, and led the league with 162 strikeouts, a number which also ranked her 17th in all of Division II. The Mauldin native tossed four shutouts and earned two Pitcher of the Week nods.
Two seniors were also honored including Johnson and Roach. Johnson was second on the team this season in batting average with a .344 at the dist. She pounded out 52-hits including nine doubles, a pair of triples, and five homers. Johnson also accounted for a team high 35-RBI. The senior third baseman was also solid in the field, committing just three errors in 104 attempts.
Morgan Roach was also honored for her solid season, earning a second team nod as the team’s designated player. Roach finished the season with 19-hits including four doubles and six homers. She also scored seven runs and delivered 17-RBI.
Brooklyn Fort rounded out the NGU honorees with a second team nod for her freshman campaign as a starting pitcher. Fort was second on the team with a 2.58 earned run average, securing a 14-6 record as a starter. She recorded 97 strikeouts in 132.2 innings of action.
The Crusaders will open up Conference Carolinas post-season play on Friday against Mount Olive at 11am.
