Shayna Finley breaks single season home run record

Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville senior infielder Shayna Finley etched her name into the North Greenville record book on Thursday as she set the new standard for home runs in a single season.

Finley belted two home runs in NGU’s double-header with Coker College on Thursday. Her game one smash evened the record while the second one broke a scoreless tie and made her the single season leader with 10 home runs thus far, with more than 20-games left to add to her total.

Finley is having the best season of her career so far this year, batting .359 with 23-RBI, 21-runs and her 10-homers. In her first three years in Tigerville, she had just 9-home runs while batting .251.

Finely has helped lead the Crusaders to a 15-11 record thus far and a 2-0 record in league play. The Crusaders will travel to Wingate, North Carolina this weekend to take on the Wingate Bulldogs in non-conference double headers.
