Milligan College, TN—North Greenville dropped a non-conference double header to Milligan College Thursday afternoon losing 5-3 and 7-1.
Kate Lee would come around to score in the first inning of game one following a leadoff single, making the score 1-0. Lee would leadoff the third inning with another hit as her solo home run extended NGU's lead to 2-0.
Greer Killman would follow up Lee's homer with a single over own, coming around to score later in the inning on a sacrifice fly from Jordan Farmer, putting NGU up 3-0.
NGU would retain the advantage until the fifth inning when the Buffalos would break through with five runs on just two hits, including a two run homer that found the Crusaders down 5-3.
Lee carried NGU's offense with two hits and two runs with an RBI. Celsea Rivers was 2-3 while Killman and Morgan Herlong also delivered a hit.
The late offensive struggles in game one carried over into game two for NGU. The Crusaders had eight hits in the second game but scored just one run. Kate Lee's second third base hit of the day would score Grace DeBoer to put NGU up 1-0 in the second inning.
The one run second would be the extent of NGU's scoring. The Buffalos put together a six run bottom of the second and added a single run in the sixth inning while NGU stranded seven runners.
Lee once again led the Crusaders with a 2-4 performance with the team's only RBI. Killman was 2-3 while Grace DeBoer was 1-3 with a run scored.
The Crusaders will take on Lander University on March 14th in Greenwood, South Carolina. First pitch between NGU and the Bearcats is scheduled for 3pm.
