MURPHY'S WALK OFF PROPELS NGU TO WIN OVER EMMANUEL

Tigerville, S.C—Emily Murphy's walk off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning gives the Crusaders an 11-10 win over Emmanuel College, Tuesday afternoon in Tigerville.

The Crusaders trailed 5-0 after three innings but chipped away with two runs in the third to cut the deficit to three runs. NGU plated three more runs in the fifth inning to tie the score at 5-5. Morgan Roach and Jordan Willingham plated a pair of runs on RBI singles while a third run scored on a wild pitch to even the tally.

North Greenville would trail twice more in the eighth and ninth innings. Emily Murphy extended the game in the eighth inning with a two run blast that evened the score at 7-7. North Greenville would fight from behind again in the ninth after the Lions took a 10-7 lead. Morgan Roach would tie the game with a three run blast while Murphy would end the game in her next at bat with a solo homerun over the left field fence.

Roach finished the day 4-5 with six RBI and a run scored while Murphy was 2-2 with two home runs and three RBI. Shayna Finley also had a solid day for the Crusaders with two hits and two runs scored.

The Crusaders to 7-8 on the season after the win with two games against Brevard College scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Tigerville.
