High Point, N.C.—The North Greenville University softball team, which wrapped up the 2013 season with a second straight runner up finish in the Conference Carolinas tournament, has been voted as the fourth best team in the league, by coaches voting.
The Crusaders finished the season with a 20-20 mark overall, but finished three games over .500 in conference play with an 11-8-1 mark. North Greenville looked to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament after finding itself in the league championship game for the second straight season, but lost two games to Mount Olive in the finals.
The eventual Conference Carolinas champions from Mount Olive checked in at the top of the poll this season, followed by King and Limestone in the second and third spots. North Greenville opens the 2014 season on February 6th with a home double-header against Anderson University.
