On Saturday, May 7, North Greenville University softball coach Sarah Hall was named the NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year and three members of the Lady Crusader softball team were named to the NCCAA South Region Team.

In just her second season as a college level head coach, Hall has led the Lady Crusaders to the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time in almost 10 years. After struggling to a regular season record of 16-23, North Greenville was able to upset #1 seed Palm Beach Atlantic University and take home the NCCAA South Regional Tournament title. In two years as head coach of the Lady Crusaders Hall has compiled a 44-45 record with her best season coming in 2010 when the team finished 25-21.

Taylor Roof, a junior pitcher/first basman from Chester, S.C., was named to the NCCAA South Region Team as a first baseman after leading the Lady Crusaders with 8 home runs, 27 runs batted in and 20 runs scored.  Roof also finished the season with a .274 batting average, .500 slugging percentage and .959 fielding percentage.

Also making the NCCAA South Region Team from North Greenville were shortstop Kimberly Robertson and outfielder Marielena Santos.
