Hartsville, S.C. – The North Greenville softball team continued its struggles on offense as it dropped a double header to Coker College 2-1 and 4-1 on Thursday afternoon.
In game one, the Lady Cobras scored one run in each of the first two innings and were able to hold off the Lady Crusaders to seal the victory.
Taylor Roof (2-3) started the first game on the mound and pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three. A lack of run support turned the stellar performance into a loss for Roof.
On offense, Rachel Holeman led North Greenville, finishing 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Courtney Campbell was 1-for-3 and scored the Lady Crusaders’ only run of the game.
In game two, Laura Hopper (0-1) got the start and pitched a complete game, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out five. Four costly errors in the game cost Hopper her first victory of the season.
Kansas Wofford led the offense going 1-for-3 at the plate and scoring a run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning. Hopper also finished 1-for-3 with double, while Campbell and Roof each finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
