Three Softball Players Named to NCCAA All-American Teams

Tigerville, S.C.— Senior Catcher Allison Bailey has been named a first team NCCAA All American while seniors Hope Brewer, Shealy Broome, and sophomore Taylor Roof have been named the NCCAA All American second team.


Allison Bailey, the senior catcher from Jefferson, S.C. started 45 games for head coach Sarah Hall playing both first base and catcher. Bailey posted a .353 batting average in 2010. Bailey is the team leader in statistical categories including home runs (6), RBI’s (31), and base hits (49). She is also third on the team with 24 runs scored.  In 2010 she posted a fielding percentage of .986.
Hope Brewer is a senior short stop from Liberty, S.C. who started in all 46 games for North Greenville. She posted a .286 batting average for the Lady Crusaders in 2010. Brewer led the team with 26 runs scored and triples with five. She was fourth on the team with 39 hits while adding 11 RBI’s.
Shealy Broome, the senior centerfielder from Ridgeway, S.C. played in 45 games in 2010 earning a .337 batting average. Broome registered 31 hits in 92 at bats and was first on the team with eight stolen bases. Broome produced 10 RBI’s and posted a .893 fielding percentage as the starting center fielder.
Taylor Roof is a sophomore who played in 42 games at both first base and pitcher. Roof was second on the team with a .353 batting average as well as second on the team in both homeruns (5) and hits (42). She was 41 of 113 from the plate while accounting for 21 RBI’s and 19 runs scored. On the mound roof pitched 83 innings racking up 74 strikeouts while only allowing 44 walks. She gave up 39 runs and had a 3.14 earned run average.
Seniors Allison Bailey (Art) and Shealy Broome (Health and Wellness) will graduate in may and senior Hope Brewer (Sport Management) with graduate from North Greenville in December.
