CRUSADERS BESTED TWICE IN EXTRA INNINGS

Game Two Box
Milligan, Tn.—The North Greenville Softball Team traveled to Tennessee today to take on the Buffaloes in a Wednesday double header losing both games in extra innings 2-1 and 3-2.

Offensively in game one the Crusaders were led by Allison Bailey who was 2-4 with the team’s only RBI. Hope Brewer and Kansas Wofford were both 1-3 and Shealy Broome scored the lone run for NGU.
North Greenville trailed by one run until the sixth inning when Allison Bailey singled to left field scoring Shealy Broome who led the inning off with a walk. The game was tied at one heading into the eighth inning but the Lady Crusaders were unable to score. The Buffaloes went on to score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
In game two the Crusaders took the first lead of the game in the third inning after Jessica Turner scored on an Allison Bailey single. NGU led until the sixth inning when Milligan tied the game at one. Neither team was able to score in the seventh sending the game two into extra innings.
The Crusaders were able to produce a run in the top of the eighth inning when Jessica Turner once again scored, this time on a Hope Brewer single. The Crusader led by one run as the game transition to the bottom of the eighth when the Buffaloes were able to best the Crusaders scoring two runs and ending the game.
With the two Wednesday losses, the Crusaders fall to 17-14 on the season. The team will take the field again tomorrow against Tusculum College.
