Game Two Box
Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville softball team split a double with South Atlantic Conference member Mars Hill College on Saturday losing the first game 3-2 to the lions but flipping the script in the second game beating the lions 3-2.
In game one the Crusaders were lead by Tia LaFreniere who was 2-3 with a home run and an RBI. Jessica Turner registered the second RBI for NGU. Senior Allison Bailey also had a good day going 2-4.
On the mound for the Crusaders in the first game was Laura Hopper who gave up three runs (2 of which were earned). Hopper also struck out four batters and walked four.
Freshman Kimberly Robertson started the second game for North Greenville picking up her first win as a collegiate pitcher. Robertson gave up 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out two batters and walking four.
Offensively in the second game Courtney Campbell and Marielena Santos were both 2-3 with a run scored. Courtney Campbell also accounted for an RBI along with Tia LaFreniere. With the split the Lady Crusaders improve to 11-10 on the season.
North Greenville’s next games will be a double header against Piedmont on March 17.
