North Greenville softball played away again today in Spartanburg, SC against Spartanburg Methodist College. Today’s play was rather reminiscent of yesterday, with the same frustrations of non-productive hitting. NGU lost by only one point in each game with scores of 1-0 and 2-3.
Kristyn Smith got the loss for the first game giving up one run on three hits. The Crusaders had no runs or hits in the first game.
However, the women made a strong attempt in the second with ten hits. Unfortunately, it was not enough and the Crusaders only accumulated two runs from those hits. Taylor Roof, whom received credit for the loss, gave up three hits, which later translated into three runs for Spartanburg.
“We’re leaving too many runners on base and not scoring enough runs,” Coach Jan McDonald said.
The NGU softball team will play again at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, at Milligan College in NC.
