Softball drops two at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, NC---Pfeiffer swept a softball double-header from North Greenville Wednesday afternoon. Pfeiffer took the first game 8-0 and came up with four runs in the bottom of the eighth to win the second 6-5. Pfeiffer improves to 20-19 on the year.


Pfeiffer took command with a five run first. Singles by Stephanie Bethea and Martina Bullard were followed with back to back triples from Dacia Ijames and Jaimee Cassidy to start the inning. Later Sarah Moore and Stephanie Brandt each had RBI singles as the Falcons gave Ijames a 5-0 lead to work with.

Bethea scored another run in the second to build the lead to 6-0.

Ijames was pitching effectively giving up only three hits and striking out four in five innings.

Pfeiffer ended the game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. RBI singles by Brandt and Bethea gave Pfeiffer a 8-0 lead and the victory.


North Greenville scored a run in the top of the first but the Falcons answered in the bottom of the inning on a Jaimee Cassidy RBI single.

Pfeiffer took a 2-1 lead in the third when Dacia Ijames singled home Tiffany Allen.

North Greenville teid the game in the sixth when Brewer tripled in Bailey.

The visitors scored three runs in the top of the eighth to take a 5-2 lead.

Pfeiffer came back in the bottom of the eighth with four runs. Sarah Moore doubled in two runs. Brittany Lewis singled in Moore to tie the game and Stephanie Brandt won it with a single that scored Lewis.
