Softball falls to Limestone
1B Allison Bailey hit a 2-run homer in Game Two

TIGERVILLE, SC- Limestone College defeated North Greenville University 3-1 and 12-4 in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in NCAA Division II softball action. North Greenville falls to 5-19 on the season, while Limestone improves to 13-13.


Jennifer Casement pitched seven innigns, striking out ten and giving up ten hits in the win. Katie Eargle gave up seven hits in the loss.

Limestone scored two runs in the first inning. Christina Woolgar singled in Brittany Owen and Keisha Thompson scored on an error.

North Greenville scored its only run in the fourth inning when Tie LaFrieniere plated Allison Bailey with a single.

The Lady Saints added one more run in the sixth inning as Jessica Brown scored when Lisa DeMarr reached on an error.


North Greenville took an early lead as Bailey blasted a two-run homer in the first inning. Limestone cut the lead to 2-1 in the third inning as Lauren Robertson scored on a Woolgar single.

NGU expanded the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the third as Christina Shin batted in Bridget Watson.

Limestone hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning to tie the game 3-3. Jordan Goodman hit the first one with Robertson following with a second.

The Lady Saints scored nine runs over the next three innings to run away with the game. NGU's only other run came in the sixth inning as Kayla Farmer scored on a Brandy Jackson double.

Lisa DeMarr won the game for LC, while Ashley Warlick took the loss for NGU.
