TIGERVILLE, SC- Erskine College defeated North Greenville University 4-2 in both games of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon in NCAA Division II softball action. The Crusaders fall to 5-17 on the season.
GAME ONE Erskine 4, North Greenville 2
Rebekah George pitched 4 and one third innings, giving up four hits and striking out seven in the win. Ashley Warlick pitched seven innings, giving up seven hits and striking out seven in the loss.
Kelly Davis led the Lady Fleet, going 3 for 4 and scoring one run. Sharleen Ashby batted in two runs. George hit a home run in the fourth inning. Erskine added three runs in the fifth.
North Greenville was led by Hope Brewer, who went 2 for 4. Allsion Bailey plated Brewer on a sacrifice fly in the fifth for the Crusaders' only run.
GAME TWO Erskine 4, North Greenville 2
Stephanie Burt pitched seven innings, giving up seven hits and striking out one in the win for the Lady Fleet. Katie Eargle took the loss for NGU.
Courtney Davis led EC, batting 3 for 3 with two RBI, including a home run. The Lady Fleet scored one run in each of the third, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
Shealy Broome and Bailey each bagged two hits and an RBI to lead North Greenville. In the first inning, Broome plated Bailey with a double. In the sixth inning, Bailey singled in Christina Shin.
The Crusaders will be back in action Saturday at noon as Limestone College visits Tigerville.
