Softball drops two to Mars Hill

TIGERVILLE, SC- Mars Hill College swept a doubleheader at North Greenville University Saturday afternoon. The Lions took game one 11-0 and game two 3-0. The Lions improve to 14-4 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 1-13.


Tiffany Farthing pitched seven innings, giving up two hits and striking out nine, to pick up the win. Ashley Warlick took the loss for the Crusaders.

The Lions were led by Christa Fullwood, who went 4 for 4 with two RBI. Rebekah Huff went 3 for 5 with an RBI, while Kristina Osborn and Anna James each added 2 RBI.

Lindsey Eargle and Amanda McElveen were the only Crusaders to get a hit in the first game.

Mars Hill scored one run in the first inning, three in the second, one each in the fourth and fifth, and five in the seventh,


Paige Brantley pitched seven innings, giving up three hits and striking out five batters for the Lions. Katie Eargle took the loss for NGU.

Katie Bryden and Anna James each had one RBI for MHC. The other run was scored on a passed ball.

Christina Shin, Hope Brewer, and Allison Bailey each had one hit for the Crusaders.

MHC scored one run in the first inning and two in the third.

North Greenville will be back in action Wednesday at St. Andrews Presbyterian.
