North Greenville goalkeeper Cohen Brinkley recorded six saves as the Trailblazers battled unbeaten Lees-McRae College to a 0-0 draw Wednesday night. The result moved North Greenville to 1-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while Lees-McRae moved to 4-0-2 overall and 1-0-2 in the conference.
Lees-McRae controlled much of the opening half, leading both teams in shots 6-0 and earning three corner kicks. Andrea Marrazzo put the Bobcats' first shot on goal in the sixth minute, but Brinkley made the save as the Trailblazers kept Lees-McRae off the scoreboard.
North Greenville became more active offensively after halftime and generated all four of its shots in the second half. Lees-McRae continued to apply pressure at the other end, producing eight second-half shots and putting five on target.Â
Zborovsky finished as the only Trailblazer to put a shot on goal, accounting for both of NGU's shots on target.Â
North Greenville returns home Saturday, September 19, when the Trailblazers host the Flying Fleer of Erskine College at Pepsi Stadium.
