Banner Elk, N.C. – North Greenville staved off a late surge by the Bobcats on Wednesday night to defeat Lees-McRae 73 – 69.
North Greenville led by eight points at the end of the first half and led by as many as 10 – points in the second. The Trailblazers led the entirety of the second frame until the waning moments when Lees-McRae took a one-point lead. It was the Bobcats first lead of since it held an early 2 – 0 edge with 18:41 in the first half.
The Trailblazers regained the lead on its next possession on a field goal from
Logan Parker.
Savion Brown added three more points to extend the lead back to four. The Bobcats continued to battle however forcing NGU to make shots down the stretch. A bit three – pointer from
Carter Bobbitt put NGU three – points with six seconds left in the game. Bobbitt would add a free throw later in to ice the game.
Bobbitt led NGU with 17 – points.
Savion Brown had 12 – points while
Jacob Brown had 11.
Josh Linder had 16 – points and added a pair of blocks.
