Savion Brown's Big Night Not Enough as Trailblazers Fall to UNC Pembroke

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers played tough against the conference-leading Braves of UNC Pembroke with a final score of 72-59 this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. Several individual performances stood out as both teams features a player with over twenty-five points. The first half featured several momentum swings, with North Greenville leading by as much as ten but the Braves ending the half with a seven point lead. NGU began the second half by cutting the lead down to three. However, UNCP would take over the momentum, opening the lead back up to double-digits. The Trailblazers would put together one last momentum swing to cut the lead down to five, but the Braves would end the game with the final five points to leave Tigerville with a double-digit win. Points off turnovers proved to be a large factor in the game as nine turnovers by NGU turned into sixteen points for UNC Pembroke. The Braves also committed nine turnovers, but the Trailblazers could only turn them into six points. The two teams finished with nearly identical field goal percentage, with UNCP just slightly edging NGU with a .414 percentage compared to North Greenville's .412 percentage.

Savion Brown put together a performance to remember, finishing with 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, an assist, and a block. Josh Linder recorded 9 points, 3 blocks, 2 assists, and a rebound. Ryan Djoussa posted 9 points, 5 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

North Greenville will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, February 25th against the Tornado of King University at Hayes Gymnasium.
