Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to get the 2025 season started on a strong note, posting a 1-0 victory against the Catawba College Indians this evening on brand new artificial turf at Pepsi Stadium. A chippy game that resulted in seven yellow cards began with an even number of shots, with NGU slightly leading the category 6-5 at halftime. The second half proved to be highly competitive as well, with Catawba leading in shots 7-4 in the half. In the 85th minute, the Trailblazers would get on the board with a goal by
Vinicius Silva, which was assisted by
Cooper Tyler. CAT would put up one final shot in the final minutes, but NGU would ultimately hang on to complete the shutout.
Vinicius Silva scored the only goal of the match and provided three total shots with two on goal.
Jacob Marino recorded two shots, both on goal.
Ricardo Marques provided three saves and recorded a shutout at goalkeeper.
North Greenville will return to action on Tuesday, September 9th to take on the Wildcats of Johnson & Walles University at Pepsi Stadium.
