The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to get in the win column this afternoon in Franklin Springs, Georgia with a 1-0 victory over the Lions of Emmanuel University. Both teams would post seven shots in the first half, but it would be NGU to get on the board in the 37th minute with a goal by
Finley Lloyd.
Anna Rickle, the starting goalkeeper left the match in the 24th minute due to an injury.
Angeline Montoya would take over at goalkeeper, and preserved the shutout throughout the remainder of the match with seven saves. With the win, the Trailblazers improve to 1-3 for the season with a 1-0 record in conference play.
Finley Lloyd found the back of the net with her only shot of the match.
Aubrey Kramer posted 3 shots, all of them on goal.
Angeline Montoya provided 7 saves at goalkeeper.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, September 20th against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.
