The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a 17-9 victory against the Flames of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. With
Jake Monroe taking the start on the mound, NGU would give Monroe a quick lead as
Bryce Roddey hit a lead off home run down the right field line. NGU added a run in the 3rd, and after Lee was able to get on the board with a run in the bottom of the inning, North Greenville would pull away with two additional runs in the top of the 4th when
Landon Shaw hit a two-RBI triple. The Trailblazers would add three additional runs in the 6th. The Flames would pull back within two runs with four runs in the bottom of the 7th, but from there NGU would pull away with five runs in the 8th and five more runs in the 9th including a two-run home run by
Josh Foulks and a three-run home run by
Alton Gyselman. Lee would put up a final fight with a four run bottom of the 9th, but
Ian Squires would record the final out to secure the win. With the win, NGU improves to 37-8 for the season.
Landon Shaw posted three hits including a triple, four RBIs, a run, and a stolen base.
Josh Foulks posted two hits including a home run, four RBIs, and a run scored.
Brent Stukes pitched 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out three and earning the win.
NGU will return to action tomorrow against the Cobras of Coker College at Ray & Bea Dillard Field.
