The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to comfortably defeat the Trojans of Trebecca Nazarene University with a final score of 12-3 this afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee. With the win, NGU improves their overall record to 23-6.
Jake Monroe took the mound for the start, making it 5.0 innings before being relieved by
Caleb Cox. NGU trailed in the first inning but took the lead in the 2nd with a two-run home run by
Thomas Powell.. Although the Trojans tied the score in the 5th with two runs, it would be the 7th inning where North Greenville would not only reclaim the lead but put the lead out of reach with seven runs. Leading 7-3,
Matthew Albritton would add to the lead with a three-run home run. Lana McGaha added two insurance runs in the 8th by way of a single to left field.
Tyler Dean would finish things out with a scoreless inning.
Caleb Cox was deemed the winning pitcher.
Matthew Albritton finished a solid day with two hits including a home run in addition to three RBIs and a run scored.
Lane McGaha posted two hits, two RBIs, and a walk.
Bryce Roddey also recorded two hits including a double, two runs, and a walk.
NGU will face the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College on Friday, March 21st in Young Harris, Georgia.
