Tigerville, SC - North Greenville won the Battle of the Crusaders with a 3-1 victory over Belmont Abbey tonight at Hayes Gymnasium. Belmont Abbey began on a strong note, taking the opening set with only two attack errors. However, NGU was able to respond by taking the next three sets. North Greenville led in attack percentage for the match with a .292 percentage. Although Belmont Abbey dominated the night in blocks 13-4, NGU otherwise led in every other category, including kills, service aces, assists, and digs. North Greenville's best set of the match came in set three with twelve kills and just one error committed for a set attack percentage of .579.
Diego Rosich led the way in kills with 13 while also posting 4 digs, 2 service aces, and an assist.
Mark Autry also had a solid night, recording 10 digs, 9 kills, 2 service aces, 2 assists, and a solo block.
Michael de la Cruz finished with 9 kills, 3 digs, 2 service aces, and 2 block assists.
NGU will take on the Flying Fleet of Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina on Saturday, February 10th.
