The North Greenville Trailblazers fell to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College this afternoon in Belmont, North Carolina with a final score of 58-39. NGU matched the Crusaders in points for the first quarter as the two were tied 15-15 going into the second. However, BAC would double North Greenville in points throughout the second quarter to go into halftime with an eight point lead. The Trailblazers put together a much more competitive third quarter, trailing BAC by just one point in points scored in the quarter to take a nine point deficit into the fourth. The fourth quarter proved to be a struggle for the Trailblazers offensively, however, as they would post just five points in the quarter while Belmont Abbey pulled away with fifteen points scored to put the game away. The loss drops North Greenville's overall record to 1-8 with a 1-2 record in conference play.
Ja'Mari Frederick led NGU with fifteen points as well as three rebounds and an assist.
Amaijah Smith scored seven points and posted three assists and a rebound.
Austin Johnson put up six points, four rebounds, a block, and an assist.
North Greenville will face the Tornado of King University on Saturday, December 14th at Hayes Gymnasium.
