Trailblazers Fall in Overtime to Valkyries, Ending 2024 Season

In an intense soccer match held in Greensboro, North Carolina, the North Greenville Trailblazers faced off against the Converse Valkyries in Spartanburg, SC, but were outpaced in a nail-biting 3-2 overtime loss. The match saw both teams locked at 1-1 by halftime, and both teams would score goals in the second half before the Valkyries clinched the win in overtime.

Finley Lloyd and Aubrey Kramer were the scorers for North Greenville. Lloyd opened the scoring with an early goal at 08:06, assisted by Marli Cevallos, setting a hopeful tone for the Trailblazers. Kramer later added to the tally in the second half at 73:09, with Allison Curlee providing the assist. However, the Valkyries would rally for a late goal when Converse's Jasmine Hernandez scored a penalty at 87:46 to even the score, eventually pushing the game into overtime.

In overtime, Converse's Hannah Liebig struck the decisive blow at 106:31, assisted by Ellie Gore, which ultimately ended North Greenville's season. Trailblazers' goalkeeping duo, Haleigh Holland and Anna Rickle, together faced a tough onslaught, making five saves from a total of 17 shots.
