Strong Second Half Not Enough as NGU Falls to Mount Olive

In a tale of two halves, the North Greenville Crusaders trailed the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive 35-9 at halftime but fought back to put some doubt into the Trojans and ultimately fell by just thirteen points with a final score of 56-43 at Kornegay Arena in Mount Olive, North Carolina. North Greenville struggled mightily in the opening half, making just three field goals and two free throws to score a total of nine points and allowing the Trojans to jump out to a huge lead going into halftime. NGU vastly improved in the third quarter, making four field goals and six free throws to even up Mount Olive's third quarter production 15-15. Then, the Crusaders would close out the game by more than tripling UMO's fourth quarter point productr 19-6 to draw back within thirteen as time expired. North Greenville finished the game with a .304 field goal percentage.

Key Stat: Points off Turnovers - Although the Trojans forced just five turnovers more than NGU, they were able to capitalize with 29 points off turnovers, more than twice of North Greenville's 13 points off turnovers.
