Tigerville – North Greenville football added a new crop of signees on Wednesday, the annual National Signing Day for high school athletes.

North Greenville coaches once again prioritized the state of South Carolina, signing 22-players from the Palmetto State including several preferred walk-on players. Defense was a major focus this recruiting season with 10 defenders inking with the Crusaders including four along the defensive line and in the backfield. Offensively, one of the top high school signal-caller signed with North Greenville as well as a pair of big tight ends. 

Jerrick Foster 

• A 5-9, 160-pound wide receiver is the son of Jamale and Samantha Foster. Played for coach David Johnson at Nation Ford High School. 
• Reeled in 101-receptions for 1,376-yards and 13-touchdowns and rushed 20 times for 4 scores. Also returned kicks for Nation Ford, carrying it 46 times for 1,090 yards and six scores. Also returned nine punts for 240-yards and a score. 
• High School Accolades: three-time All-Region selection, three-time York County All-Area performer, nine-time Player of the Game from radio station WRHI. Was selected to play in the 2021 North-South All-Star Game. B-Honor Roll student. 
• Lettered in Basketball, Track, and Baseball in high school.

Ashton Howard 

• A 6-5 athlete weighing in at 215 pounds. The son of Tomeka Howard and Stephan Harley played for Sean Wright. Slated to play tight end for North Greenville. 
• Recorded 180-tackles in high school including 15-sacks, 40 tackles for a loss, and forced six fumbles. 
• High School Accolades: Three-time All-Region, All-State, two-time All-Region for basketball, and once as a high jumper. AB Honor Roll and FBLA member.

Kendrick Clark Jr. 

• Clark is a 5-11, 160 pound DB and is the son of Latoya Perry and Kendrick Clark Sr. he played at Woodland High School under head coach Eddie Ford. 
• Clark collected 110 career tackles while picking off six passes and scoring five touchdowns while playing for the Wolverines.  
• High School Accolades: Three-time lettermen at Woodland.  
• Academic Honors: AB Honor Student, Principles List performer. 
• Also participates in Track & Field for the Wolverines.

John Deal 

• The son of Chris and Leah Deal, the 6-0, 270-pound man played high school football at Emerald High School under head coach Thomas DuBose. 
• Finished with 36-knockdowns and graded out at an average of 84-percent. 
• High School Accolades: All-State selection, All-Region Selection, two-time All-Lakelands, North-South All-Star game selection, three-time best offensive lineman award, offensive ironman award, FCA Player of the Year. 
• Academic Honors: National Honor Society Member, Beta Club Member, A-Honor Roll student, 4.903 grade point average, 4.0 core GPA. Ranked 17th in his class of 170-members.

Dylan Ramirez 

• A 6-2, 210 pound signal-caller, Ramirez is the son of Joseph and Beth Ramirez. He played high school football at Broome High School under coach Lynn Flemming. 
• Finished with a passer rating of 102.3 and threw for 6,042-yards and 52-touchdowns for the Centurions. He finished with a total of 7,012 yards. 
• High School Accolades: All-Region performer in football, baseball, and basketball. Was selected to play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl and was All-State in 2020. High School Blitz Jr. Showcase and Quarterback MVP in 2020. 
• Academic Honors: A 3.0 or better student at Broome. Outstanding Academic Achievement in 2019 and 2021. 
• Also played baseball and basketball.

DJ Williams 

• The son of Resse Williams, the 6-1, 165-pound defensive back played at Spring Valley High School under head coach Robin Bacon. 
• Finished with 41-tackles for the Vikings with six pass break-ups and a pair of interceptions. 
• High School Honors: Invited to play in the North-South All-Star game, an All-Region selection and an All-State honorable mention. 
• Academic Honors: An AB Honor Roll student.

Jonah Freshley 

• A 6-1 defensive lineman is weighing in at 265 pounds, Freshley is the son of Mark and Mary Freshley. He played high school football at Conway High School under head coach Carlton Terry. 
• Academic Honors: An A, B student at Conway. 
• Also plays basketball at Conway High School.

Cam'Ron Butler

• An athlete registering 6-1, 170-pounds is the son of Erica Butler. Played at Lake City High School under Ron Baker. 
• High School Accolades: Named the Rookie of the Year for Lake City, the Most Defensive Player of the year, was an All-Region wrestler and a state qualifier at 145-lbs. Named player of the Week and Athlete of the week. A Principal Honor Roll and AB Honor Roll Student. 
• Also played basketball, ran track, and wrestled in high school. 

Myles Tate 

• Myles Tate is a 6-2, 190 pound outside linebacker and the son of Shannon Fuhrmann. Tate played at Asheville Christian Academy under head coach Rick Spurling. 
• Was an AB Honor Roll student. 

Janani (JJ) Ogwal

• Ogwal is the son of Janani and Shaunelle Ogwal. The 5-10, 170 pound defensive back played at Fort Mill High School under head coach Rob Mcneely. 
• Ogwal was a three-year starter for the Yellowjackets and was a team captain his senior season. He played on offense and defense and was one of Fort Mill's top tacklers during his junior season (2020). 
• High School Accolades: Team Captain for the 2021 season. Has a 3.7-grade point average. 
• Lettered in both football and track and field at Fort Mill. 

Anthony (AJ) Nash 

• AJ Nash is the son of Mareka Stevens and Anthony Nash. He is a 6-3, 220 pound tight-end that played at Dorman High School for David Gutshall. 
• Nash finished with eight catches for 75-yards and a score in 2021. 
• Academic Honors: 4.2 Grade Point Average, National Honor Society member, and a member of the National Beta Club. A dual enrollment student also taking classes at the University of South Carolina. 
• Played football and was a track and field athlete at Dorman.  

Bryce Hamby 

• A 5-10, 165-pound defensive back is the son of Lisa and Richard Haddad played football at Seneca High School under head coach David Crane. 
• Finished with 68-tackles including four for a loss. He also registered four pass break-ups and picked off three passes. 
• High School Honors: two-time All-State selection, an All-Region selection, two time All-Mountain Lakes Team, State Champion in Track & Field. 
• Played football and was a track & field athlete.  

Christopher (CJ) Barr 

• 5-10, 169 pound wide receiver and the son of Sharron Miller. Played at Lake City High School under head coach Ron Baker. 
• High School Honors: Was named Most Athletic by Upward Bound. 
• Academic Honors: Earned an All-American All-Academic Team nod. 
• Also played baseball, basketball, and was a track athlete. 

Tyler Sonneborn 

• A 6-2 246 pound defensive lineman is the son of Mike and Kimberly Sonneborn. He played at Southside Christian High School under head coach Mike Sonneborn his father.  
• Finished with 67-tackles including 14 stops for a loss and nine total quarterback sacks. 
• High School Accolades: Two-time All-Region selection as well as a two-time All-State honoree. 
• Academic Honors: Deans List, Beta Club.  
• Also plays basketball for the Sabers. 

 Demetris Mckelvey

• A 6-6, 220 pound wide receiver, Mckelvey is the son of Kashana and Labosco Mckelvey. Mckelvey played at Fort Dorchester High School under head coach Steve LaPrad. 
• Reeled in 54-catches for 965-yards in high school to go along with 17-touchdowns. 
• Also played basketball in high school.
