Box Score Tigerville – North Greenville erased an early deficit on Friday night with 11 players in the scoring column resulting in an 82-47 win over Regent University in non-conference action.
The Crusaders used a season high 60-points from the bench including three in double-figures to earn their third consecutive win. Bree Stoddard led the assault with 22-points, a season high for her to go along with 12 from Chelsea Martin and 11 from Ayano Shelton. Martin led the Crusaders with a career high 16-rebounds for the game’s only double-double.
The Royals jumped out to an early four point lead but North Greenville scored the next 12-points including three points from Karen Donehew and Haley Luttrell to make it 12-4. Lutrell also added a lay-up to help the cause. The Crusaders led 42-16 at the half.
Defensively NGU forced 22-turnovers by the Royals and turned them in to 23-points. North Greenville also dominated in the paint, nailing down 30-points on the inside. Haylee Luttrell led the starters in scoring with nine points.
The Crusaders return to conference play on Saturday afternoon against Converse College at 2 PM.
