Crusaders Hit Triple Digits In Win Over Pensacola Christian

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders achieved their second victory of the season in style with a 106-81 win over the Eagles of Pensacola Christian College. North Greenville shot well with a 51.9 shot percentage and were able to limit mistakes with just eight turnovers. Kovi Tate double-doubled with 29 points and 12 rebounds.

1st Half

NGU took the momentum early in the half, putting up a 10-3 run to begin the game. Pensacola Christian scored the next six points to cut their deficit to one before North Greenville opened their lead back up with a 9-0 run. Both teams would have little trouble scoring throughout the remainder of the half, with NGU continuing to add to their lead. Eventually, the Crusaders would end the half with a 26 point lead, shooting 54.5% from the field. Kovi Tate led the scoring with 15 points.

2nd Half

Both teams would continue to shoot well in the second half. After PCC was able to cut the deficit early on in the half, North Greenville responded with an 11-3 run to make the score 81-50. With 5:21 remaining in the game, a free throw by Kovi Tate put the Crusaders in triple digits for the first time this season. NGU would go on to win the game by 25 points, shooting 48.6% in the second half. Kovi Tate once again led with 14 points.

Individual

Kovi Tate posted a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds, and also recorded 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

Roderick Howell put up 16 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and a block.

Joe Conley had a strong game with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Upcoming

North Greenville will remain in Tigerville to take on the Mount Olive Trojans on Saturday, January 5th.
