Rowe Saves Nine as Crusaders Unable to Overtake Pacers

A penalty kick goal proved to be the difference as the North Greenville Crusaders fell to the Pacers of USC Aiken 1-0. The goal came in the 70th minute as a foul allowed Monica Armendariz to score her first goal of the season as a result of a penalty kick. NGU recorded 7 shots with 5 being on goal. 

1st Half

The Crusaders were the aggressors early on as Megan Biehl recorded North Greenville's first shot just 24 seconds into the match. Eight total shots would be recorded in the half with 3 going to NGU and 5 going to USCA. Both goalkeepers tallied 3 saves each as the half ended scoreless.

2nd Half

USC Aiken came to life offensively in the 2nd half with 10 shots and 7 shots on goal. The lone goal of the match came in the 70th minute when a North Greenville foul allowed USCA's Monica Armendariz to score her first goal of the season to give the Pacers the lead. NGU continued to play tough, but were unable to connect for a goal.

Individual

Megan Biehl had a productive game with 5 shots and 3 shots on goal.

Brianna Rowe recorded 9 saves at goalkeeper.

Alyssa Mendez played for 70 minutes and recorded a shot on goal.
