NGU Wins Battle of the Crusaders

Abby Robinson scored the only goal of the match to put the Crusaders of North Greenville over the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey in an important conference match in Belmont, NC. Thanks to the win, NGU now moves up to second place in the Conference Carolinas standings.

1st Half

After a calm start to the match, North Greenville struck with a goal when Abby Robinson scored off a corner kick. Sarah Hazelwood provided the assist. Belmont Abbey would put up five shots in the first half including three header shots, but would come up empty in the half. NGU led in shots for the half with seven.

2nd Half

North Greenville posted the first shot of the second half. Belmont Abbey would attempt to score the equalizer, but solid defense including two saves in the half by Brianna Rowe prevented that from happening. Sarah Hazelwood was charged with a yellow card in the 71st minute. BAC would lead the half with six shots compared to NGU's three, but it was the Crusaders of North Greenville who came away with the victory.

Individual

Emma Shearer led in shots with 3 including a shot on goal.

Abby Robinson scored her 2nd goal of the season less than five minutes into the match.

Sarah Hazelwood, who played all 90 minutes, recorded an assist.

NGU is now set to face the Limestone Saints, who are currently 1st in the conference standings on Wednesday, October 17th in Tigerville.
