Box Score Gaffney, S.C. – North Greenville suffered its second loss of the season to Limestone College on Tuesday as the Saints earned a 92-61 win over the Crusaders.
Karen Donehew was NGU’s only double-figure scored with 15-points. NGU got help from its bench on Tuesday night as seven different players pitched in for 27-points. Mychala Wolfe led bench scorers with six points while Alicia Jones added four.
Limestone controlled Tuesday night’s game from tip to final whistle, jumping out to a 12-point lead after one quarter. The Crusaders limited further damage in the second period but the Saints still hoarded a 14-point advantage as the teams headed to the locker room at intermission.
North Greenville would trail by 23-points with 3:10 left in the third quarter but a Wolfe three-pointer sparked a quick run for the Crusaders, cutting the lead to 15-points. Cameron Carter added five points to the NGU run as she knocked down a three with a layup on the tail end to cut the Limestone lead to 60-45.
Tuesday night would belong to the Saints though as NGU ran out of answers down the stretch. The Saints shot 42-percent, building up a 37-point lead over NGU. The Crusaders shot 32-percent on the night.
The Crusaders are now 9-13 overall and 6-10 in league play. Next on the slate for NGU is Erskine on Thursday night at 5:30pm in Due West, South Carolina.
