Box Score Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville men’s volleyball dropped Conference Carolinas tilt to Limestone College 3-2, Saturday afternoon in Hayes Gymnasium.
The Crusaders hit .241 as a team while the Saints hit at a .250 clip. Jon Childes led NGU with 15-kills while Aaron Campbell knocked down 13. Alexander Schinzing finished with 42-digs while Childs led the team with two aces at the service line. Childs also led the team with 10-digs while Jacob Jenkins accounted for four solo blocks.
The two squads traded set wins as the Crusaders took the lead after a 25-19 lead. The Saints evened the score with a 25-23 win in the second set. The Crusaders finished set one with 13-kills on 26 attempts in set one with just two errors but had just 11-kills with six errors.
NGU also earned a win in the third set, evening a match high with 13-kills en route to a 25-21 win. The Saints would jump out to a 7-3 lead in the fourth set. NGU would cut the lead to two but 7-3 run from the Saints would put North Greenville in a 14-10 hole. Limestone would go on to win the fourth set 25-19, sending the game into a fifth frame.
LC would take another lead in the fifth set but North Greenville would storm back to take a 5-4 advantage. The two squads would battle to a 12-12 lead before Limestone gained a 14-12 advantage. Luuga Vailu’U would pull NGU to within one but a kill from the Saints would end the game with a 15-13 win.
North Greenville fell to 12-14 and 7-11 in Conference Carolinas play. The Crusaders will be in action again on April 16th in the Conference Carolinas tournament.
