Box Score Central, S.C. - The North Greenville Crusaders and the Southern Wesleyan Warriors tied 1-1 today after battling it out through two overtimes. The Crusaders are now 2-10-2 (0-8-2) on the season.
The Crusaders started off strong in the first half taking shot after shot on the warriors but had trouble finding the back of the net until Rylee Marks (43:57) put her second goal of the season in to put North Greenville up 1-0 over the Warriors. It wouldn’t take long for SWU to tie the game up as Lily Troyano Put the ball past Madelynn Schober to tie the game up at one all.
North Greenville tried to break the tie in the second half with shots on goal from Alex Pagliaro and Karly Denaburg but neither shot could snake past Southern Wesleyan Goalie Courtney McNeil. Madelynn Schober finished regulation with three saves and NGU would finish regulation with ten shots on goal.
In overtime, North Greenville would try to put one last goal on the board and take home the but could not find an opportunity to score.
Madelynn Schober finished the game with four saves on five shots. Ariana Perry led the Crusaders in shots, taking two of North Greenville’s ten shots on goal. Rylee Marks came off the bench to score the lone Crusader goal which was her second on the season.
North Greenville will return back home on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 to take on the Mars Hill University Lions.
