NGU Begins Home Stand With Sweep of Bluefield

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began a three-match home stand with a 3-0 victory over the Bluefield College Rams. NGU had little issue with the Rams, winning all three sets by five or more points. Cade McGee impressed in his first start of the season by leading in kills with twelve.

Set 1

The Crusaders began on a strong note, scoring eight of the first eleven points. Points went back and forth throughout the middle of the set before NGU put together an 8-3 run to lead 19-9. Bluefield was able to respond with a 5-1 run to get back into the mix, but North Greenville put the opening set to a close with five straight points to win 25-13.

Set 2

After a 4-4 tie to begin the set, NGU put together a dominating 16-5 run to take a 20-9 lead. Bluefield had a little bit of fight left in them with a 3-1 run. Cade McGee would cap off the set with three straight kills to get North Greenville a 25-15 win in the second set. 

Set 3

A competitive first half of the set saw ten ties before the Crusaders put together an 8-3 run to lead 16-10. The Rams fought back with a 4-1 run, but North Greenville ultimately took the set without issue 25-20.


Cade McGee led both teams with 12 kills. He also posted 18 total attacks, a service ace, a block assist, and a dig.

Aaron Campbell recorded 8 kills, 11 total attacks, and 2 service aces.

Brandon Baker put up 5 kills, 11 total attacks, 2 service aces, and 2 digs.


North Greenville will return to conference play this Friday against the Mount Olive Trojans in Tigerville.
