TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Senior Matthew McManaway led all players with 15 kills as North Greenville tamed the Emmanuel College Lions in four-sets (21-25, 25-13, 29-27, 26-24).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set one saw nine tied scores and 5 lead changes as Emmanuel took a 25-21 set win. The Lions took an early 7-5 lead, but the Crusaders fought back to tie it up at 10-10. Emmanuel then went on a 3-0 run to take a 15-13 lead that the Crusaders were never able to recover. A kill by Don Thompson gave the Lions the set victory. Emmanuel hit an impressive .562 for the set with only one team hitting error.
North Greenville didn't let a first set loss hold them back and they came storming back in the second set to get a 25-13 win. The Crusaders jumped to an early 7-3 lead. Later on in the set, they would go on a 5-0 run to take a 20-10 lead. A ball handling error by Manuel Melenciano ended the set the for Lions, as the Crusaders tied it up at one set apiece.
Set three saw 19 tied scores and 10 lead changes. NGU went on a 5-0 run to take a 10-9 lead before EC would go on their own 4-0 run to regain the lead, 12-10. Next, the Crusaders went on a 3-0 run to take a 17-15 lead, but once again the Lions would go on a 3-0 run to take a 19-18 lead. North Greenville would end the set getting the final two points and a 29-27 victory.
Tough serving by Jake Boldog gave North Greenville an early 4-0 lead. Emmanuel went on a 9-3 run to take an 11-9 lead, but the Crusaders fought back to tie it up at 22 with a block by Jackson Gilbert. NGU would once again close out the set winning the last two points of the match and taking a 26-24 set win and a 3-1 match win.
