Bristol, TN—North Greenville men’s volleyball wrapped up regular season play on Tuesday with a 3-0 loss to King University.
The Crusaders finish the regular season 8-18 overall with a 7-11 mark in league play. Matthew McManaway scored eight times for NGU to lead the team in kills while Kyle Brandt finished with seven kills.
The Tornado jumped on North Greenville early earning a dominating first set 25-9 victory. The Crusaders finished the opening frame with more errors than kills, committing eight miscues compared to just four kills. King took advantage of NGU’s slow start, pounding out 11-kills with just one error while hitting .714 as a team.
NGU’s night didn’t get much better as the Tornado earned wins of 25-17 and 25-17 in the second and third sets to shut out the Crusaders. NGU finished the night hitting just .061 as a team while the Tornado hit .483 as a squad.
North Greenville will have its second chance this month to ground the Tornado, this time in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas playoffs. The Crusaders will play King on April 18th in Bristol once again. Time is to be determined.
