Franklin Springs, GA—North Greenville continued its solid start to the 2016 season on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Emmanuel College.
The Crusaders improve to 2-1 on the season in Conference Carolinas games. Luuga Vailu'u led NGU with 12-kills while John Childes finished the night with 10. Alexander Schinzing dished out 40 assists while Dustin King led the team with 12 digs. North Greenville finished the night with 19 assisted blocks led by Matthew McManaway who had six.
The Crusaders got off to a shaky start as the Lions took a 1-0 lead following a 25-21 win in the first set. NGU bounced back with three consecutive wins, evening the set tally at one a piece with a 25-23 win in the second. The Crusaders put together their best performances of the night in back-to-back frames, knocking down 30 kills on 52 total attempts. The team took a 25-18 win in the third and followed it up with a 25-20 decision to earn the match win while hitting at a .467 clip.
The Crusaders will return home on January 25th to host Erskine College at 7pm in Hayes Gymnasium.
