North Greenville loses to Coker in four sets

Hartsville, S.C. - North Greenville fell to Coker College 3-1, Friday night in non-conference men's volleyball action.

The Crusaders dropped the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20 as the offense struggled to produce. The Crusaders had just 17-kills and 12-errors in the first two frames while the Cobras finished with 26 kills as a team.

North Greenville bounced back in the third set to cut the Cobra set lead to 2-1. The Crusaders put together their best offensive showing of the night, hitting .450 as a team with 13-kills on 20 attempts. Luuga Vailu'u would put the finishing touches on the frame as he knocked down a kill to give NGU the 25-21 win.

The Cobras would bounce back to take a fourth set win though as NGU ran out of answers. Coker would take the final set 25-18. The Crusaders trailed by three but cut the lead to one point as a Vailu'u kill made the score 17-16. The Cobras would answer with 9 of the next 11 points to earn the match win.

North Greenville falls to 11-9 on the season and will host Emmanuel College in a crucial Conference Carolinas match on March 22nd in Hayes Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 7pm.
