St. Andrews, N.C. -- North Greenville extended its win streak to three games Tuesday night with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-10) win over Saint Andrews College.
Caleb Arelus led NGU with seven kills while Luuga Vailu'u earned six. Grayson Lawrence led the NGU attack with 31-assissts while Christopher Moy finished with five aces at the service line. Arelus and Silas Jenkins accounted for seen digs on defense while Jacob Jenkins led NGU with two solo blocks.
The Crusaders trailed just once on Monday night, answering every attempt by the Knights to take the lead. NGU took an 18-9 lead in the first set before shutting down the SAU attack, allowing just two kills in the final nine points.
SAU kept the game close in the second set as NGU fell behind by two (8-6) early in the set. The Crusaders stormed back to scour four unanswered to grab a two-point edge as kills from Moy, Vailu'u, and Grayson Lawrence earned NGU a 10-8 edge. The Crusaders would go on to take a 20-11 advantage over the Kings before wrapping up the set with a Kill from Caleb Arelus.
North Greenville jumped out to its biggest lead of the night when it earned a 13-point cushion at 19-6. The Knights would go on to add four more points but NGU put the finishing touches on the sweep with a kill from Connor Rhine.
North Greenville improved to 11-7 on the season after Tuesday's win with a Conference Carolinas match against Erskine on Thursday night. The Crusaders and Fleet will open with a first serve at 7pm.
